The vacation that I wish would never end!

I am loving that "I have escaped" feeling that this vacation has given me. I wish it would never end...but unfortunately the money does evntually run out! This wonderful time of bliss will sadly end on Easter Sunday and we will begin the daunting 12 hour drive home! Oh well...just thought I would take a second to update and share some pics of our vacation so far....

Derrell snoozin in the car!

The many faces of Morgan...on our way to the parks!

Just arrived at Islands of Adventure...Morgan complained because Mommy wanted to stop to take pictures!

As Morgan would say...another boring picture! She couldn't complain much we head to the Cat in the Hat ride next!

Oh how I am behind!

I apparently am not any good at keeping up with 2 blogs...but I can get better!
Tomorrow is the day! I am so excited about our trip to Florida I can hardly stand it! I am so ready for sunshine, warmth, and even to occasional FL afternoon thunderstorm, they never last long! I am doing laundry right now separating out vacation clothes from normal everyday work clothes in an effort to get us pack and road ready! I promise to update this week with posts and pics!

Just a quick update before bed...

Not much new here in the Stokes world. The girls are trudging through school...one day at a time. Some days thye love it, but other days they hate it! GO FIGURE! Morgan has gotten her new glasses and while she is responsible with handling them and keeping up with them...she is not crazy about wearing them all the time. She is constantly telling me that glasses are for people that squint and she says she doesn't squint, so she doesn't think she needs them. AGAIN GO FIGURE! I have finally uploaded a few pictures to share, some are a little outdated, but i am throwing them on here anyway!

Morgan asleep with her finger up her nose! I crack up everytime I look at this picture!

Morgan right after her surgery in January to remove the stye from her eye

Morgan the day she got her glasses...she is such a total ham!

Morgan after she asked me to straighten her hair this weekend...this hair style makes her look soooo grown up!

I am such a loser!

So we have established that I am really bad at this whole blogging thing, but I am going to try and do better! SO here is what is going on in our lives!

Morgan just recently got glasses. She has also started back up in dance. She is taking a Tap/Ballet combo class.

Jasmyne is gearing up for her 4th grade field trip to the Louisville Science Museum this April. They have been having bake sales to earn money to pay for their trip. Her biggest undertaking right now is learning about food and which choices are healthy and which ones are not. She is really trying to make an effort to make better choices in an effort to lose weight. Jasmyne is thinking about playing softball again this summer, but this time she is looking into a traveling team.

Jamya continues to be completely rambunctious! She is constantly jumping and skipping around. This usually lands her on the floor with some new boo-boo. She is definitely the klutz of the family, but it is so cute and dependable that it just makes her clumsiness that much cuter!

Back to the Blog!

So I haven't done this since August, I have never been very good at journaling. Let's face it that is all a blog is, an online public journal. But I am determined to do this...so here it goes again.

So we had a pretty busy Christmas and a very low key New Year's Eve...just the way I like it. We just stayed home, Morgan and I playing Scrabble and Derrell playing WOW. Jasmyne and Jamya were with their Mom.

Morgan has had a great first semester of Pre-school at Briarwood. She loves school. Jasmyne is doing well in the 4th grade, at least when she applies herself...but isn't that how all kids are. Jamya enjoys spending her days with Morgan and her Daddy in the morning before Morgan gets on the bus and then having her Daddy to herself in the afternoons until Morgan and Jasmyne get home from school.

We are fighting a nasty stye with Morgan right now under her right eye lid. It started out as a small bump about a month and a half ago. We tried warm compresses and home remedies at first but that didn't work, so we went to the eye doctor on 12/15. He prescribed augmentin for 10 days and then we went back to see him again on 12/22. He referred us to an eye surgeon inthe office that day and she gave us a drop called AzaSite to use for a week. Christmas Day it started to drain just a little, but not much, so when we went in on 12/29, she decided to continue using the warm compresses twice a day with the drop once a day, adding bactracin ointment twice a day as well and come back two weeks on 1/12. This doesn't seem to be working and Derrell and I feel it really needs to be lanced. It seems to be getting bigger, but we are keeping up the routine. So we shall see on the 12th. When I asked the eye surgeon about lancing it on 12/29, she gave me the impression that she felt like I was a horrible mother for even suggesting it with out working out all the other options. Does that make me a horrible mom? She is just 4 and she continues to comlain about it hurting and stinging hen when use the medicine and compresses, not to mention they are not working. Also everytime we go out in public people love to make comments and offer their advice like I am just ignoring it...I just want to scream...PEOPLE I KNOW IT IS THERE AND SHE IS UNDER THE CARE OF AN EYE SURGEON! GET OVER IT! Oh well, now that I have that off my chest. I will keep you updated.

I will try and gets some new pictures up by tomorrow. The girls are getting big so fast.
